Established in 2008, the Campus Advising Council (CAC) plays an important role in IUPUI’s efforts to promote student learning, success, and retention by proposing and prioritizing initiatives, policies, and procedures that impact student success through advising. The CAC consists of professional and faculty advising leaders from each of IUPUI’s undergraduate-serving schools.
The CAC has worked to establish common learning and process outcomes for advising across campus, has assessed student learning and satisfaction within advising, has identified needs for professional development, and has led the creation of an advising promotional structure: the Academic Advisor Development Program.
Monthly meetings bring together advising leaders and key collaborators, such as the Office of the Registrar, Division of Student Affairs, and Office of Student Financial Services. The CAC is chaired by the senior executive director of Campus Career and Advising Services in the Division of Undergraduate Education.
